Ruth Faragher Obituary

Ruth Faragher

Kenton Hills - A woman who defied age and embraced life, Ruth "Bootsie" Faragher graced this earth for 95 years emanating light and love to all who were fortunate enough to know her. After a short illness, she passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021 surrounded by family. Ruth was born to George and Mary Kleier in Ludlow Kentucky and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1943 before marrying Ray Faragher in 1946. While raising a family, Ruth contributed her time, talents and energy to many individuals and organizations including Redwood School, St. Agnes Elementary, Notre Dame Academy, St. Charles Community, Catholic Social Services, and First Step Home. In 1978, Ruth and Ray started Saturday Knight Ltd, a bath products company, in the basement of their home. The company grew to become an international manufacturer of high end and mass market bed and bath products. Their competitive edge was, in large part, due to Ruth's creativity, sense of fashion and eye for design. After selling their company, Ruth and Ray travelled around the world, visiting every continent. Above all, family always remained Ruth's top priority. She provided a stream of love that flowed from generation to generation. Bootsie modelled the kindness, sweetness, generosity, acceptance and love that now thrives in the core of every child and adult in our family. While she had a special bond with children, she also had a gift for making everyone feel special. Her capacity for love was boundless. Children were especially attracted to Bootsie's joyful nature, sense of wonder and gift for creating fun experiences. Anyone who knew her will forever feel honored to have been part of her journey, including all of the neighborhood animals who visited her often to collect their treats. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years Ray, an infant son Bobby Ray and her two brothers, Bobby and Paul Kleier. She is survived by her two daughters, Annie (Tom) Bennett and Teri Faragher (Jeff Alexander); five grandchildren, Teri (Chris) Judy, Christie (Todd) Hosea, Michael (Laurel) Plummer, David Alexander (Catherine Naiser) and Nathan Alexander; eleven great-grandchildren, Lauren, Annie and Maria Judy, Taylor, Dawson, Madison and Henry Hosea, Elin, Peyton and Beckett Plummer, and Otto Alexander Naiser. She is also survived by her two sister-in-laws, Mary Jean (Paul) and Mary Helen (Bobby) Kleier, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Peter. Private service for family only. Celebration of life on Thursday, May 27th at 5:30 p.m. For details contact Annie Bennet at [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame Uganda Mission, 1601 Dixie Highway, Covington, KY 41011 or Behringer-Crawford Museum, 1600 Montague Rd, Covington, KY 41011..
