Domonic Joseph Di Giovanni

Dominic Joseph Di Giovanni passed away on February 3, 2016, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the age of 77. He was born in Palermo, Sicily, and lived in New Orleans for most of his life, most recently residing in Metairie. He was a parishioner of Saint Ann Church and Shrine. Dominic loved most fervently his family. He was a friend to many. He enjoyed music, food, especially cooking, fishing trips with his friends and traveling the world. Dominic was a Merchant Marine in the US Coast Guard, an active member of the EJ Wellness Center and a devoted Jefferson Parish Poll Commissioner. Beloved husband of Carolyn Melancon Di Giovanni for more than 40 years. Son of the late Giacomo and Antonina Cannella Di Giovanni Son in Law of Gertrude Brignac Melancon. Devoted father of Laura Di Giovanni Ceravolo (Artie), Julia Ann Di Giovanni (Christi), Stepfather of Ginger Meehan Bordelon (Jay), Robert T. Meehan, Jr. (Kathy). Like a father to Joey Swinson. Brother of the late Angela McLees, whose loving children reside in California. Brother in Law of Paul( Linda), Mary Ann, Gary Melancon. Grandfather of Torie, Matthew, Gregory(Jamie), Jeffrey, Jena, Stacey, Stephanie, Kevin, Patrick. Great Grandfather of Claire. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services and Mass at St. Ann Church and Shrine at 4940 Meadowdale St. Metairie LA 70006. On Saturday February 13, 2016. Visitation at 12pm with mass following at 1:30pm. A private burial will be held at a later date.
