Duke is one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met in my Life. He cared so much about other people and was the most selfless individual that you would have encountered. I would definitely miss my good friend for the rest of my Life. I just heard about this and would have loved to be there for this exceptional person.

I knew Duke best on a professional level from 2002-2006. He was always kind, friendly, and willing to do whatever it took to keep customers happy and keep LPS growing. He was also very technically skilled Engineer in addition to his recent sales position at LPS. He will be greatly missed by the technical Engineers in middle Tennessee.

As a new member of the LPS family, I regret to say that my time spent with Duke was limited. I have enjoyed the stories shared by Dave, Frank, Todd and Tami and I know LPS would be a much different place without him. He was truly loved by all that knew him. I pray that he is at peace now and his family can begin the difficult process of healing. He will live on here for sure in the hearts and minds of those he touched. Peace be with you all and especially with you, Duke.

I will always remeber Duke and our days at Jesuit. We always sat near each other when the class was arranged alphabetically. I still remember Father Thompson's words from graduation day when he said on that day we would never be together as a class again. I think Father Thompson was not exactly correct and I hope one day Duke and all of our classmates are together again. My deepest sympathies and prayers.

Sheri and Duke, It has been such a privilege to have met such a beautiful couple and beautiful family. Duke is one of the most interesting, funny, kind hearted, and gentle souls I have ever met. It has been such an honor for me to be able to offer some support during this difficult time. Duke is now in a place where “magic beans” are real and Christmas happens every day! I will continue to lift you all up in my prayers – Sheri, Marlene, Louis, Mary, Melissa, and Michelle – as well as his extended family and friends. The world is truly a better place with him here but I certainly see everyone being drawn to his infectious and upbeat personality where is now! I am certain he is a crowd pleaser where ever he is! God Bless you all and rest in peace dearest Duke………..

Duke was one of those people who touch your life and leave a mark. A good mark. The obituary sums it up nicely and not much more to say other than I always enjoyed going out with Duke and he would always make me laugh. I am deeply saddened over his loss and my heart goes out to his family. It is obvious he was loved by many and he will remain in my heart for the rest of my life. Peace be with you my brother!

My condolences to Sheri & family. I lost my first wife, Kathy , to cancer in 1989. She was about the same age as Duke. Too young to be passing away. After all these years I still miss her everyday. But time has blunted the grive & all I think about is the joy of the life shared. I pray time is kind to you as well. It is best to keep busy & live your life for two in his memory. I'm sure he would wish you to be happy. As long as you speak of Duke, he will live on is your collective memories. God Bless.

I had the honor of working for Duke at Big River Grille while he was General Manager of the restaurant. I am truly sorry and saddened to hear of his death.

Duke played an instrumental role in re-building confidence and self-esteem in me at a time when I was going through a lot of "growing pains." He was always fair and just with me - very intelligent, witty, and generous always. I would often work the closing shift, and would often remain at the restaurant hours after the doors were closed, to enjoy a game of pool and what was always stimulating and well-thought conversation with Duke. He was kind and inspirational to me at a time when I was unsure of what direction my life was going to take. My employment at Big River, and my great enjoyment of it, turned out to be a most valuable segway in my life, and I owe much of the positive experience and the reverence with which I hold the memories there to this gracious and caring man.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family - I had lost contact with Duke over the years, but I am sure that he must have fought with great strength and grace, and a sense of humor that I know must have still been alive in him. I am truly sorry to hear this tragic news - may God bless you.

Sheri,

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Duke at RHI. My son was about 8 years old at the time and he still talks about the "really cool guy with all the toys in his cubicle". I hope you can treasure the memories and be comforted that Duke was loved by so many.

To the DeBois Family, When my husband Daniel Paredes started working at LPS and I had just moved to TN I remember one of the cookouts it was Cuban themed and we are Cubans so it was very thoughtful to makes us feel at home. I had the wonderful priviledge to cook next to Duke and he was so sweet, delightful and accomidating I will never forget that. I really don't have the words for consolation because this is a great lost our sympathy goes out to you.

He was a wonderful boss and friend. I could always count on him in every situation. As an employee, he (along with the team) treated me to a spa day and symphony season tickets and gave me little gifts for doing my best. As a friend, he helped me paint my apartment and gave me framed paint chips that hang in my home after over 7 years. My husband shared the love of cooking with him, and Sheri and I shared the love of eating their gourmet meals. :) He will be greatly missed.
