George Hotz Obituary

George Stephen Hotz passed away on April 29, 2024 at age 79. He is survived by his son, Robert Stephen Hotz & his niece, Kathleen Marie Pitts, and her three children Keri, Elizabeth, & James. Born to Wilbert Joseph Hotz & Miriam Muriel Seibert on July 5, 1944, "Steve", as he was known among friends & family, spent his formative years in New Orleans, La. where he was born. Having become a skilled pension actuary, he worked with Pan American Life. He honed his expertise while enhancing the work of financial institutions in New York, Boston, & Los Angeles before returning to his home to open his own business, Actuarial Services Corporation, in New Orleans East. He later moved to Chicago to help support the business efforts of his son-in-law, Jim Pitts. Later in life, he'd regale friends with his wild letters, satirical fictions & poignant missives. He also enjoyed playing classical piano & was a voracious reader. Steve lost his oldest brother, Ronald in 2022, and is survived by siblings Rodney, Marlene, & Brian. He will be sorely missed by all of us. Steve Hotz will be interred at the family tomb in St. Louis #3, Sq. 2, St. Joseph Allee, on his 80th birthday. Requests for details: [email protected].
