John Signorelli Obituary

Mr. John Joseph Signorelli Sr. was born on March 8, 1950 and passed away at his home on Monday, December 12, 2022. He lived in the New Orleans area his whole life. Mr. Signorelli retired from the New Orleans Fire Department as an Operator, which he served for 19 years. After retirement from the New Orleans Fire Department, he was a dealer at the President & Star Casinos, he was a pit supervisor for the Flamingo, Queen of New Orleans, and Treasure Chest Casinos. Mr. Signorelli then went on to work for Bellsouth. John was a member of the Veterans Firefighters Association, Red Knights Motorcycle Club, New Orleans Firefighter's Union and APA Pool League, on the team "Hot Pockets." Mr. Signorelli was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, friends, and if he wasn't found with them, he was taking the time enjoying the country in Poplarville, MS. He also loved playing pool, watching NASCAR and golf, fishing and camping. His nickname "Smilie" was the perfect way to describe him as he always had a smile on his face and was always making friends everywhere he went. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jane Cuccia Signorelli. Survivors include, his wife, Charlene Bene' Signorelli; his son, John Joseph Signorelli, Jr. (Allison Moody Signorelli); his daughter, Brandi Signorelli Barrios; and his seven grandchildren, Noah Anthony Barrios, Brayden Anthony Barrios, Seth Joseph Barrios, Mia Jeanette Signorelli, John "Johnny" Joseph Signorelli III, Gino Max Signorelli and Eva Marie Signorelli. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass in the chapel at 1:00 PM officiated by Fr. Jeffrey Montz. Burial will follow in St. Roch Cemetery #2. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online, at www.greenwoodfh.com

On behalf of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Alumni Association and Brother Martin High School, I offer our prayers and condolences. We will say a Mass in his memory.

Father of all, we pray to you for John, and all those we love but see no longer. Grant to them eternal rest. Let light perpetually shine upon them. May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

My Red Knight Brother John will be sadly missed. John never missed a chance speaking to me at our Red Knight functions, and our conversations usually ended in us talking about our bad backs and the many failed procedures. I never realized just how much he meant to me until I learned of his passing. May John Rest In Peace and fly high as one of our Angels from our Red Knights Motorcycle Club Family. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Love and prayers always, Karen

Johnny and Brandi, I was so very saddened when Nick told me about your daddy. His smile was contagious and his generous heart touched many. You and your families are in my prayers during this very difficult time. Love, Aunt Terri
