WE ARE BORN... WE DIE

Kind of simple, Isn't It?
But it is the years in between that we cherish...

For Lou and I those years hold many beautiful memories... From the day I met my new next door neighbor and my Mom snapped a picture of us sitting on my front porch, Lou and I formed a friendship that only the movies can portray of kids growing up in small town America.

We roamed the streets of HILAN, explored the batture along the Mississippi River, and played ball in any open lot that was available.

We spend Summers in North Biloxi along with Alan Deo Gracias at a place called Ramsey's Springs... Those memories will never fade.

As teenagers we double dated, cruised the lakefront in his Dad's new Oldsmobile, went to the movies uptown and ate at sit-down restaurants and all the other fun things that young adults do. We were inseparable.

Life was great!

We put off college and both found jobs to support our life style... Soon, very soon we were married... a wife, kids and bills came in and college was forgotten.

Although our lives changed... We were never further than a phone call away. Then the tragic events of August 29, 2018 separated us...I moved to Metairie and Lou headed north to Poplarville...

In the last thirteen and a half years we occasionally see each other at funerals... I did run into him and Lola about two years ago in a Casino in Mississippi... He looked GREAT and the lucky sucker had just hit a jackpot.

It wasn't until Lenny Alphonse broke the sad news to me that Lou had passed did I even know he was ill... Irky Fabra filled me in with the details.

So Lou, we meet again, at another funeral.
It is with deep sadness that we didn't get a chance to say goodbye...

I Love You
and I'll Miss You.
