Mary Mathiasen-Jamarck

1942 - 2022

Mary Kay Mathiasen- Jamarck passed away February 5, 2022 in Elk Grove, CA surrounded by her family. Mary Kay was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 26, 1942, to Dr. Henning and Rita Mathiasen. She grew up in Council Bluffs, IA and attended Abraham Lincoln High School. She moved to San Jose, CA with her parents in 1964. This is where she met her husband Donald Jamarck and were married for 55 years. They had 3 children, Kathryn, Kristine and Michael and she had 5 grandchildren whom she loved very much. They moved to Sacramento in 1968 then moved to Elk Grove in 1974. Mary Kay was active in the PTA and at St. Joseph Parish Church. She enjoyed traveling and owned Hills Travel House in Sacramento for 17 years. Later in life she loved going to Maui, sitting on the lanai to watch the waves and sunsets. She will be missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Services will be held March 4th, at 11am at Saint Joseph Parish, 9961 Elk Grove-Florin Rd., Elk Grove, CA, followed by a celebration of life held at Palermo Italian Restaurant.
