Ernest Revell Obituary
Ernest P., age 60, of Hawthorne, on Monday, March 6, 2017. Born at Fort Dix in New Jersey, Ernest had resided in Hawthorne for the last 54 years. A career counselor with the N.J. Department of Labor in Hackensack, Ernest was best know as a classical tenor vocalist. Ernest was a 2011 Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition First Prize winner who had made his Carnegie Hall debut in January of 2011. He will always be remembered locally for his singing of The Star Spangled Banner. Ernest P. Revell was the beloved son of Elizabeth (nee Raymond) Revell of Hawthorne and the late Ernest J. Revell (2001). Dear former husband of Kate Revell of Hawthorne, and father of Michael Donham of Charlotte, NC, Jared Donham of Lawrenceville, GA, and the late Jason Donham (2016). Loving grandfather of five. Brother of Alan Revell of Milford, NJ, and Cheryl Revell of Deerfield Beach, FL. Ernest is also survived by several nieces and nephews. All funeral services and cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to National Endowment for the Arts, 400 7th Street, SW, Washington, DC 20506.

I am in total shock. I was just googling Ernest to find out if he was going to sing this year at the San Gennaro Festival in NYC. I cannot believe this talent was taken from us. I was trying to find out from what cause took him. May he RIP. He will always be missed. I am very, very sad to read this today.

Wow! I was really saddened to hear of Ernie's passing. I never met him in person, only thru Facebook. I enjoyed the many ptivate messages we shared by email, and the CD recordings he sent me.
Ernie, I will always remember the conversation we had about your rendition of Ch'ella Mi Creda. I will always miss you, my friend, and hope you get to engage in a periodic tenor duet with Mario Lanza.
