Floyd Chambers Obituary

Floyd Chambers, 90, died at home on Dec. 7.

Born and raised in Orange, he lived in West Orange before moving to Parsippany in 1952.

He served in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 23, 1942 until being honorably discharged on Jan. 13, 1946. He earned the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with one star, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Ribbon.

He was a machine operator for Anco Tools in Roseland for 10 years, retiring in 1990. Prior to that, he worked at Monroe Litton Industries in Orange and Clifton for 40 years.

He was a member of the Parsippany Presbyterian Church, the Livingston Lodge 11 F&AM, the Saint John's No. 1 Masonic Lodge in Mt. Lakes and the N.R.A. Association. He also volunteered at the Parsippany Day Care Center and St. Clare's Hospital in Denville.

Chamber is survived by his beloved wife, Helen (Barylewicz); his children, Robert and his wife, Jane and Joyce Gessner and her husband, Andrew; his brother, John Chambers; and his two cherished grandchildren, Eric Gessner and his wife, Jamie and David Gessner. He was predeceased by his siblings, Arthur, William and Frances Chambers.
