Guy Lanza Obituary
Oradell - Guy J. Lanza, Sr., Esq. age 89 a longtime resident of Oradell and born and raised in Palisades Park passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 29, 2018. Beloved husband of Hedy Mansfield. Devoted father of Karen Lanza-Tiedens and her husband Gary Tiedens, Joseph M. Lanza and his companion Danette Partellow, and Guy J. Lanza, Jr. Loving grandfather of Jessica M. Lanza. Dear brother of Frank J. Lanza, M.D. Guy was an Attorney at Law with Lanza and Lanza in Palisades Park, NJ a firm he established in 1956 following his service in the US Army during the Korean War. In is youth he was a star pitcher for the Palisades Park Boys Athletic Association and subsequently earned a tryout with the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a former parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church in Oradell as well as Sacred Heart in Haworth. He served as the Palisades Park School Board Attorney, as well as the Palisades Park Planning Board Attorney and Palisades Park Swim Club Attorney. Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11AM at Sacred Heart Church Haworth. All are asked to meet at the church. Interment to follow at Garden of Memories in Washington Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Guy's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 1 St. Jude Way, Memphis, TN 38101 are appreciated by the family.
