John S. Vogt, Jr. 68, of Hasbrouck Heights passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018. Born in Queens, N.Y. to the late Frances and John S. Vogt, Sr. Before retiring, John was the owner of Victory Builders General Contracting in Hasbrouck Heights. He was a passionate musician, artist and master builder. John was a proud member of the Northeastern Vintage Modified Racing Club. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Grimes) Vogt. Devoted father of Jason Vogt, Katherine Cormican and her husband Gerry, Jack Vogt and Maggie Vogt. Dear brother of Muriel Papa and James Vogt. Loving grandfather of Destiny Vogt, Christopher and Caroline Cormican. Cherished uncle of several nieces and nephews. Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Friday, April 20th at 9 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Corpus Christi R.C. Church Hasbrouck Heights at 10 AM. Interment following at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. Visitation Thursday, April 19th from 5-9 PM. I was simply looking up John on the Internet and wanted to try to reach out to him to try and re-connect. I worked for him after I graduated H.S. in 1986 when he had the company John Stuart Builders.
John was an awesome boss and great person.
This man always made us laugh at work and he trained me to be an excellent carpenter.
He use to bring his young son Jack to our job sites and could tell he really enjoyed having him see what his old man built with his hands.
After leaving his employment I started my own business and have always remembered John.
He trained me well and sincerely miss him.
I regret not reaching out to him sooner and want to wish his family my sincere condolences.

John and Mary are good friends of my sister Maureen and her husband Ed They always had lots of laughs when they went out. He will be missed. Sorry for your loss. Love and prayers to the family
