Marjorie Vankat Obituary
Marjorie Ann (nee Baldino), of Elmwood Park formerly of Lodi, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February, 8, 2014. Born in Paterson on February 22, 1940 to the late Pasquale and Josephine Baldino. Before retiring in 1999, Marjorie was a rebate specialist at Becton-Dickinson in Franklin Lakes for fifteen years. Previously, she was co-owner of Jo-Mar Fashions in Elmwood Park for five years. Marjorie was a parishioner of St. Leo's R.C. Church in Elmwood Park and a former member of St. Leo's Home School Association and the Picnic Committee. She was a former parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Lodi where she was a Child of Mary. Marjorie is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-three years George William Vankat, Jr. Her devoted children Karen Ann and George Patrick. Loving sister of Frank Baldino and his wife Josephine. Her brother-in-law William J. Vankat and his wife Jane. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Also survived by her special "TSB" friends. A Mass will be said at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Lodi on Tuesday, February 11th. at 11 AM. (All will meet at church). No visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Marjorie Ann Vankat may be made to the Elmwood Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps. 236 Falmouth Ave. Elmwood Park, N.J. 07407. George, Karen and George Patrick. Linda and I just learned of this tragedy 7:30 pm Tuesday. We are so sorry for your loss. She was a great person and I just looked at a picture of her, Anita, and me from long ago. All the Holidays and picnics of years ago are fresh in my mind.
