Martha Clark Obituary

CLARK
Martha, of Paterson, New Jersey, was called home to Glory on January 1, 2012. Born on July 21, 1934 in Ellerslie, Georgia, Martha was the youngest of fourteen children born to the late Joshua and Bertha Johnson. She grew up in The New Christian Missionary Church in Paterson, New Jersey. She also attended school and worked in Paterson, NJ for twenty-five years before retiring from the Paterson Public Schools' Food Service Department. At the time of her passing (in Atlanta, Georgia), Martha was a member of The Grace Bible Class Church, Passaic, New Jersey, but, renown for her gospel singing, she was affiliated with and active in countless church choirs, ensembles, and organizations in the Metropolitan area including The Ambassadors Gospel Singers. She was predeceased by three daughters: Vanessa, Luzella, and Diane. Martha leaves to cherish her memory three biological children: Gwen West of Atlanta, Georgia; Londell Dixon (Penny) of Paterson, New Jersey; Precious Harmon (Kevin) of Atlanta, Georgia; two extended children: Wytisha Perez (Joseph) of Jersey City, New Jersey; Laketa Johnson (Tyrone) of Clifton, New Jersey. Martha dedicated her life to and raised most of her grandchildren. Without a doubt, she was the family's matriarch and loved preparing big family meals for holidays and special occasions at the "big house. She was the grandmother of fifteen children and the great grandmother of fourteen children. She was an adored aunt to many nieces and nephews; a godmother to a host of god children; and a dear, lifelong friend to many. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Friday, January 6, 2012 7:30 PM at The Christ Temple Baptist Church 38 Hopper St., Paterson, NJ. Interment: Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit: 4-7:30 PM at the church. The Musical Tribute will begin at 6 PM. Arrangements by: The Carnie P. Bragg Funeral Home 256 Rosa Parks Blvd., Paterson, NJ.

TO THE FAMILY OF MS.MARTHA, I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.I NEVER MISSED AN OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR HER SING OVER THE YEARS AND ENJOYED IT. I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT HE WILL LISTEN WHEN YOU FEEL ALONE, WHEN YOU NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO. HE COMFORTS, IF YOU HAVE TO CRY SOMETIMES. HE ANSWERS WHEN YOU CALL OUT LATE IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR. HE STEADIES WHEN YOU STUMBLE IN THE DARKNESS. HE SHELTERS WITH HIS GOODNESS, ALL THE TIME. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS AND KEEP YOU.
