Chad A. Rhoades, age 46, of rural Delta passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.
He was a Senior Electrician with North Star BlueScope Steel in Delta for the past 15 years. Chad was also an eight-year veteran with the U.S. Air Force, serving as an Avionics Technician/Flying Crew Chief on the C-130. He also served as a Staff Sgt. in the Middle East during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
Chad was born in Washington, D.C., on June 21, 1978, the son of Gary and LaNae (Clark) Rhoades. On Nov. 28, 1998, he married Kristen Ferguson, and she survives.
He was a member of True North Church in Wauseon. He loved to garden, was a swim coach for the Wauseon Aquatics Swim Club for 10 years, and loved The OSU Buckeyes and all sports.
He was known to run alongside his daughters as they ran cross country, was the "Pit Boss" when it came to outdoor cooking, and was a "Homesteader" making all-organic products for his family. His passion was his family!
Surviving is his wife, Kristen; two daughters, Grace and Ella Rhoades; parents, Gary and Julia Rhoades of Arcanum, Ohio; sister, Sara (Adam) Carper of Pettisville; in-laws, David and Mickey Ferguson of Arcanum, Ohio; sister-in-law, Korina (Terry) McIntosh of Wauseon; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, LaNae Rhoades.
A Celebration of Chad's Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at True North Church, 850 W. Elm St., Wauseon, Ohio, with Pastor Rex Stump officiating. Veteran services will be accorded immediately following the service by members of the Fulton County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the benevolence of the family.
