Theo H. Heuer, 80, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, July 29, 2024.
He was born in Napoleon on Jan. 13, 1944, to the late William and Marie (Eggers) Heuer. On Jan. 15, 1966, Theo married Paula Kimberly at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon.
He proudly served in The U.S. Coast Guard from 1962-66. He then worked as a Diesel Mechanic as well as farmed in his free time. Theo was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, The Ridgeville American Legion, as well as the Past Central Committeeman for the Freedom Township Republican Party.
He enjoyed camping since he was such an outdoorsman, browsing antique tractors, reading, and spending time with his loving wife and family.
Theo is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Paula; children, David Heuer, Susan (Brian) Norden, Nicholas (Shannon) Heuer and Jenny (Jim) Borgelt; grandchildren, Anya, Olya, Joel (Cassie), Jacob (Jordan), Logan, Kaitlyn, Katelyn (Damion), Thea, Elizabeth, Madison, Cale, Rebecca and Joe; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Johnson; and his faithful canine companion, Stormy.
In addition to his parents, Theo is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jillian Norden.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 3-7 p.m. at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon. Funeral Services will he held on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon, with an hour of visitation prior to services. Interment will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, with military honors accorded by The Ridgeville American Legion Post #454.
