John H. Meyer
John H. Meyer, 90, of Harvard passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023.
John was born in Evanston, Illinois on January 12, 1933 to Howard and Marion Meyer. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. On February 9, 1957 he married his wife, Patricia.
John was the owner of Meyer Bros for many years, which provided fresh fruits and vegetables to the surrounding area. He was an active member of the Harvard community as former President of the Jaycees, past President of the Lions Club, lifetime member of the Harvard Moose Lodge, a member of Enterprise and volunteered at the food pantry. He also participated in the VetsRoll trip to Washington DC. He was also active in the St. Joseph Catholic and First Presbyterian churches. John loved being with people, was passionate about helping others, and enjoyed golf and travel.
John was a devoted husband and loved his family. He is survived by his wife Patricia, sister Alice Hayden, children Shelley Meyer/Heimsath and Mike (Kathy) Meyer, grandchildren Jen (Brendon) Aitken, Jessica (Rob) Curtis, Becca (CJ) Turner, Kristina (Miller) Hollstein, and great-grandchildren Jonathan, Lilly, Ryleigh, and one on the way.

A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 2 to 3 PM at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner Street, Harvard, Illinois. A prayer service will follow with Deacon Tony Koss officiating. Inurnment will be private.
