Marilyn J. Podlesak, 85, of Crystal Lake, passed away August 29, 2018. She was born April 5, 1933 in Woodstock, the daughter of Estelle Dworak Dudley and Burdette Dudley.
On April 18, 1953, Marilyn was united in marriage to Howard Podlesak in Chicago. She was a graduate of Austin High School in Chicago and attended the Art Institute of Chicago and Chicago Teacher's College.
Marilyn was employed with Difibo Law Office in River Forest, Connie Clark Law Office in Osage Beach, MO, and was also a secretary for St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chicago.
Marilyn had many hobbies including sewing, water color painting, gardening, baking, singing in Crystal Lake Sweet Adelines, and traveling. She had a love for history and loved to read. Marilyn was also a piano teacher.
In addition to her husband, Howard, Marilyn is survived by her children, Jane (Bill) Stangeland of Crystal Lake, Jeffrey (Kathy) Podlesak of Crystal Lake and Nancy (Marvin) Meister of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren, Carly, Jamie, Laura, Daniel, Christine, James and David; and her great-grandchildren, Leo, Asher, Calden, Owen, Everett, Lucas and Jayden.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for Marilyn will be held Sunday, September 9th at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake.

Condolences to Uncle Howard,Jane,Jeff,and Nancy .I had the pleasure of talking with Aunt Marilyn last month about her sister and we were sorry to hear she passed away before I could call her back.Sorry we couldn't make it to the funeral,was out of town.Fond memories and warm thoughts to all.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of this amazing women. While I volunteered for Senior Care Volunteers I got to spend time with Marilyn and Howard as I drove them to doctors appointments or the store. I so so admired Marilyns zest for life. She was enthusiastic about all the crafts she worked on and shared some of her knitting patterns with me. I am currently out of town and unable to attend her funerals, but will be sending warn thoughts to Howard and the family. Memories of Marilyn will be in my heart always..
