Rosemary Binkowski Obituary

Rosemary Binkowski (Bockerich)
Born: September 6, 1935
Died: December 10, 2024
Rosemary was born in McCook, Illinois. She was born to John and Eve Bockerich with an older brother, Jim. She attended Argo Community High School. Activities included the GAA (Girls Athletic Association) and she also enjoyed leading roles in school drama stage/assembly hall presentations. Rosemary met her high school sweetheart Ron Binkowski (going steady) junior year, married in 1954. They celebrated their 70th anniversary in June of this year.
Rosemary was a devoted wife to Ron, and a loving mother to 3 children Liz Wilcox, Karen (Dave) Robbins, and Ron Binkowski Jr. She was the "fun" grandmother to 5 children Jennifer (Ryan) Brenczewski, Steve (Danielle) Robbins, Mike Robbins, Ryan and Brandon Wilcox. She was a great-grandmother to 4 children Ben and Ellie Brenczewski, Braxton Robbins and Remi Robbins.
While attending high school, Rosemary attended Mary Roberts Cosmetology school. She became a licensed beautician and employed as a hairdresser at Goldblatts Department store in Chicago, Illinois. She continued her profession with a home-based business for much of her life.
Rosemary's personality included being a jokester, loved playing slot machines and in particular, an occasional brief walk from Arcadia, Calif home to the nearby Santa Anita Park horse race track. She would place her bets on the last two races and return home and attend to supper. Rosemary loved competitive card playing. For many years she competed daily with members of the Women's Social Club in Sun City West Az, additionally performing Vice President duties. Rosemary loved baseball and the Chicago White Sox. Her favorite family game playing activity was Scrabble, which she played frequently/aggressively with any/all challengers.
Rosemary passed away peacefully, with her husband Ron at her side, hands held tightly together.
Rosemary was a beacon of light and lived life to the fullest, she spread kindness to everyone and leaves behind cherished memories that will forever remain in our hearts.

I first met Rosemary with Ron when my wife and I asked to dine with them at Orchard Pointe. We only dinned a coupled more times before Ron went into the hospital, then I invited Rosemary and her caregiver to dine with us a couple of times before her daughters transferred her to the memory care unit. Several weeks later when Ron returned, we would make arrangements to meet for lunch.
