Charlotte Tomes Obituary

CHARLOTTE P. TOMES WEST LAFAYETTE, IN Charlotte P. Tomes, 89, died at 3:05 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2008, in her West Lafayette residence. Born Sept. 30, 1918, in Indianapolis, her parents were Charles D. Perrine and Magdalena Roch Perrine. She graduated from George Washington High School and attended Indiana University. Her marriage was to Mark L. Tomes on April 15, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1991. Mrs. Tomes had lived in West Lafayette since 1948. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a past member of the Altar Guild. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, needle work and knitting. Surviving are a son, Charles M. Tomes (wife: Marcy) of Valparaiso, and a daughter, Carol E. Parish (husband: Robert) of Centennial, Colo. Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday August 2, 2008 at St. John's Episcopal Church with Father Ed Tourangeau officiating. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Christopher Tomes, Bridget Tomes, David Tomes, Laura Parish, and Sarah Parish. A sister, Alice Perrine, preceded in death in 1997.
