Robert H. Meyer

Nov 25, 1933 - Jan 22, 2025

Robert "Bob" Henry Meyer, 91, of Kouts, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. He was born on November 25, 1933, in Dolton, IL, to Robert L. and Julia (Steiner) Meyer and graduated from Crown Point High School in 1951. Bob proudly served in the United States Army and was a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kouts. He made his career working at Crown Feed & Supply in Crown Point where his hard work and determination led him to co-owning the business. He was an avid sports fan, rooting on the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and IU sports. If you asked anyone, you'd know his pride and joy was mowing his yard, keeping it in tip top shape! The love he had for his family and friends will not soon be forgotten.

On June 22, 1957, Robert married Evelyn Stokes, his bride of 67 and a half years, who survives, along with their children, Nancy (Tim) Newland, Thomas (Laura) Meyer, and Jean (Bill) Parks; sisters, Mildred Compton and Lois Cook; grandchildren, Matt, Stephanie, Kelli, Bradley, and Katie; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Gwendolyn, Milo, and two on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Judy Hixson.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 507 S Rose Ave, Kouts, with a funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. Burial to follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Kouts.
