His knowledge, charm and wit will be much missed both within our firm and in the wider New York art community. We extend our deepest sympathy to his entire family. All of us who worked with Dean will miss him. In the small world of American Decorative Arts, Dean's light was strong. His knowledge, humor, generosity and humanity made him an outstanding member of his profession. For many of us in the Long Island history museum gang, he was a dear friend, booster and mentor. I will miss him very much!
