Elisabeth Hobbs

HOBBS--Elisabeth (Atwater), October 21st, of Charlemont, MA, formerly of New York City. Devoted wife of John H. Hobbs. Loving mother of Margaret M., George H. and Kate H. Hobbs. Beloved sister of Ann Guardabassi of Perugia, Italy and John Atwater of London and Charlemont. Also survived by loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, A lifelong lover of animals, especially Madison, Max and many other dogs. Elisabeth was active in the educational world serving on the Visiting Committee at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and on the Board of Dean's Advisors at the Harvard Business School, and she was co-chair with her husband of the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Capital Campaign. She was also a trustee at the Churchill School in New York City, Proctor Academy in Andover, NH, the Academy at Charlemont and Historic Deerfield. A memorial service will be held at the Federated Church, 175 Main St., Charlemont, MA on Saturday, October 25th at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Mayor's Alliance for New York City's Animals, In memory of Elisabeth A.
