FRANCES ALDRICH Obituary

ALDRICH--Frances "Daisy" Daggett, of Providence, Rhode Island, South Dartmouth, Massachusetts and Vero Beach, Florida, died on April 2, 2012. Daisy was born on December 9, 1923, to Frances White Daggett and David Lewis Daggett of New Haven, Connecticut. On September 13, 1943, she married Richard Steere Aldrich, the son of Janet Innis Aldrich and Richard S. Aldrich of Providence, Rhode Island. Her husband, Dick, died in 1997. Daisy is survived by her four children: Frances Aldrich Llopis of Madrid, Spain; Richard S. Aldrich, Jr. of New York City; Abby Aldrich Gray of Baltimore and William Stuart Aldrich of Chicago. Daisy is also survived by eight grandchildren: Francesca Garrigues, Lavinia Llopis, Lucy A. Gray, Lydia C. Gray, Richard S. Aldrich IV, Peter T. Aldrich, Russell P. Aldrich and Caroline H. Aldrich; and three great-grandchildren: Michaela de la Mata, Chloe Moraleda and Gilda Moraleda. Daisy served as a Regent, Trustee, Regent Chair and Honorary Chair of the Capital Campaign for the George Washington Foundation, and was a member of the alumna board of Miss Porter's School. A memorial service will be held at Grace Church, 175 Mathewson Street, Providence, at 2pm on Saturday, April 14, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations in Daisy's memory may be made to the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903.

Aunt Daisy is a brightly remembered jewel of my childhood: sharply funny, looking to heighten the excitement of any family moment going on, someone as a kid I wanted to keep in sight.
She will be greatly missed.
