HARVEY KAYLIE Obituary
The City College of New York mourns the passing of Harvey Kaylie, '60EE, its distinguished alumnus, unwavering ally and an indefatigable supporter of generations of students. Mr. Kaylie left CCNY to become an innovator and world leader in RF and microwave products. He gave back generously to his alma mater, endowing millions for the Kaylie Prize for Entrepreneurship for aspiring engineering students, and much more to the institution as a major donor. Mr. Kaylie was equally generous with his time and wisdom as a member of the 21st Century Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors. We will miss him immensely and our hearts go out to his family. I never had the opportunity to meet Harvey but always heard pioneering and maverick approach in operating his business; be lowest cost while offering best product, in shortest lead time to deliver to respected customer, with best customer service support, and indeed truly a tall order. But he did it, not just once but repetitively, even as a novice and now seasoned engineer that he unknowingly inspired me to be. I use and recommend his products when and as often as I can, to many peers, junior and senior engineers. I don't recall any who have used the mini circuit's product lines complain. There's a few of use who are proud users; mini circuits compete with the best out there and beats them in price, delivery and proven performance. Who ever follows Harvey's footsteps has a big shoe to fill. I've met several of those who work under his umbrella; they do emulate and represent him; articulate, probing, detailed, responsive, and rapid at the way they communicate so you know exactly what you get, where it stands and how it's defined. I wish there were more who has that passionate and arduous, humble and proud, work style and conduct. He will be missed dearly by many in the industry and technical folks he touched and influenced, and a shame for those who missed the opportunity to engage his business style and products. Lived as a legend and prosper beyond. Thank you, Harvey, rest in joy and in peace with smiling content.

We have the honor of meeting Mr, Harvey Kaylie for many times and always remembered the golden wisdom he gave us. We appreciate the kindness, encourages and assistance that Mr. Harvey give us. He is always the Boss in my mind. Its really a difficult time for us. May serenity and peace with us to get through this hard time.

My deepest condolences to the Kaylie family. Harvey was an inspiration for me in the microwave engineering industry, an icon who will be missed. It has been a great experience working at Mini-Circuits for the past 2 1/2 years.
