HELENE SEEMAN Obituary

SEEMAN--Helene Zucker, on June 27, 2010. Born April 20, 1950. Beloved wife of Fred, loving mother of Ford and Curtis, cherished daughter of Marcia and the late Benjamin Zucker, dear sister of Michele Kanter and Herbert and Cynthia Zucker, devoted aunt of Zoe, Zev, Eric, Blayne, Arthur and Amber. Graduate of Bronx High School of Science, Boston University, and master's degree of Library Science-Expertise in Documentation. Helene began her career at Louis K. Meisel Gallery, Soho, NY. In 1978 she co-authored the book "Soho", A Guide to the Community. Reviewed by the New York Times, now classified as a historical documentation of Soho. She later researched and documented a second book entitled "Photo Realism". From 1980 forward she took great pride as director of the Art Acquisition Program at Prudential. In her most recent years she taught the arts at NYU with great enthusiasm. Helene was a shining light to her family and all those who knew her. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. We will forever cherish our precious memories. Service Thursday 11:45am at "The Riverside" 76th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

Dear Fred, Ford and Curtis, I am so devasted by this horrible news that I just heard, having been away. Helene was such a special person. My heart goes out to you and all the myriads of people whom she touched. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, especially Curtis, for whom I have a special place in my heart.

I knew Helene and they family. My Sister-In-Law Phyllis Siegel was her first cousin. I'm deeply sadden by this event. I hope the family will each and everyday move forward as Helene would of wanted. Our deepest sympathy.

For Fred, the boys, and other family--please accept my deepest, deepest sympathy. Helene was a friend and colleague from 1980 in the corporate art world and although our lives have taken separate paths, she has always been, and will always be, in my heart and mind. Her joy is unforgettable, as is her love, humor, and intelligence. I'm too many miles away to attend today's service but should there be another way to honor her, please let me know. With love, Bonnie Earls-Solari

I cannot believe this has happened. Not to someone as wonderful as Helene. I worked with her at Pru for many years. She was so creative, highly intelligent, always positive, and such an inspiration to me. I have always and will always hold her in the highest regard. RIP Helene.

I do not know your family, but I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my father after a car accident in December of 2009, and I know you are experiencing unspeakable grief. I hope that you find strength and comfort in your family and friends. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you navigate the coming days and weeks.
