Ivy Ballew Obituary

1970 - 2018
Ivy Faye Ballew of Knoxville, Tennessee went from labor to reward on January 12, 2018.

Ivy Faye Ballew was born on September 1, 1970 in New York to the late Ralph and Bernice Ballew. She was raised in Laurelton, NY and Long Island City, NY. Ivy graduated from Forest Hills High School in 1989 and in 2000 she attended private school in Hampton, VA to learn medical billing, graduating in 2002. Ivy had a passion for serving people. Of her many jobs she worked at the family business, Eagle in Flight, Inc.; it was there that she soared in her spiritual gift of healing people through counseling.

Throughout her life, Ivy was a loving mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and cousin. If laughter is the best medicine, Ivy was a master medicine distributor. From birth, Ivy loved to laugh; and, if you watched her laugh, it was infectious. For the first few seconds you would watch her smile; two seconds later you were joining her in full bodied laughter.

Ivy talked and walked with God every day, she was a passionate spreader of God's word; actively serving in the church. Ivy was a kind soul and always open to helping someone: she'd give until she couldn't; she'd give counseling or service to anyone in need.

Whether you were family or friend, Ivy always greeted you with a warm smile and if you were lucky, she would bless you with a big hug. When she hugged you, there was nothing to feel but warm love and that's how most of us will fondly remember Ivy, with warm love!

To rejoice in her memory, Ivy leaves behind: her loving fiancé, Marshall "Kels" Kelso; devoted and loving daughter, Brianna Ballew; brother, Mark Ballew; sister, Wanda Ballew; sister in law, Melanie "Dee-Dee" Ballew; aunts: Paula Cherry, Barbara Farmer, Kathrine Wright, Olivia Stewart, Peggy Wright and Theresa Wright; uncles: Joseph Wright Sr., Anthony Wright and Emmanuel Farmer; nephews: Mark Ballew Jr. and Miles Ballew; nieces: Heather Lannaman and Mariah Birdsong; niece in law: Jamie Ballew; great nephews: Christian and Jaylin Ballew; great nieces: Gina Zollo and Amiya Lannaman. Ivy also leaves behind a host of cousins and friends.

The Family of Ivy Faye Ballew, would like to express their profound heartfelt gratitude for every act of love and kindness extended to them during their season of bereavement.
