Mary Ann and I extend our deepest sympathies on your family's loss. I will miss Jim, he was a long time colleague and friend. Everyone at IBM that I tell of his passing remembers him fondly, whether they worked closely with Jim or not. I loved working with Jim, and the years I spent reporting to him were the best years of my IBM career.

As the collection of pictures and awards showed Jim made many significant contributions to Computer Science and his legacy will last.

We will cherish our memories of Jim as we know you will. Once again please accept our sincere condolences.
