We remember John as such a dear friend who gave so much to those people in need through his legislation for secondary education and the disabled. He was always generous in remembering friends and helping anyone who might ask his counsel. His thoughtfulness and giving spirit affected everyone he met. We speak of him often and miss him so very much... The Groennings Family

Dear Mary Ellen,
It's been a very long time since we all lived in Washington, but perhaps you'll remember me from those days. I was so very sad to see the notice that John had died. In recent days he was much on my mind. I wanted to contact him to say, as I often had, what a difference he made in my life. He was my first mentor, someone who really bolstered my confidence and urged me to finish a college degree, late. I'm too old to do this now, I remember telling him, and he said, if you don't do this now you will wear the chip you have on your shoulder for the rest of your life. I took his advice, and ironically ended up pursuing that degree at NYU, where he would become president. I delayed my graduation by a semester so that his would be the signature on my diploma. Later I pursued the writing career I had always wanted, and he came to my book party. What a wonderful, soulful, accomplished man he was. I will never, ever forget him. May he rest in peace knowing that he was one of those rare people who really effected change and made a difference in the lives of many. My thoughts, prayers, and sympathies are with you and your family. Please let me know if there is a subsequent memorial service; I missed the funeral, which I see here was Friday.
My very best,
Ellen T. White

This was the man my Mom worked for more years than be counted. When I was little(like 12 or so) he would call the house and I would do my best to take dictation from him so I could tell her when she got home. My favorite time was when he and I walked the streets of Greenwich Village to buy a Xmas tree for his penthouse NYU apartment. He was a great man that will be sorely missed by me for these simple reasons. May you rest in peace sir.

Dear Mary Ellen , my sincere condolences for your loss.
I remember like yesterday when John introduced me to you; you were so beautiful, full of life and intelligent. I knew John had found his perfect match
John, left an indelible impact on so many lives; including mine.
He gave me the opportunity to intern on Capitol Hill and to visit this wonderful country the USA. Later on, I was able to settle here and go on to take advantage of the many opportunities available to women in this country.
I will always be for ever grateful to this amazing man. I hope I will be able to see you again sometimes

Mary Ellen, I am so sorry for your loss. John Brademas was always a larger than life person to me. He gave me my first job on Capitol Hill, and I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with him . . . only I'm not sure he was accurate when questioned about the mess that was always his desk top.. . I will never forget his explanation that "order is in the mind." My sincere condolences to you and the entire family.

Dear Mrs Brademas,
Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear husband.
John was a great friend of Cyprus and has helped me in many ways during the difficult years from 1988 to 1992 when we were trying to solve the Cyprus problem and reunite our island. Despite his many other important activities and role he was always there ready to help in every way.
His memory will always be very dear to all Cypriots.
