LAURENCE HAAR

HAAR--Laurence Martin, died on September 9, 2025. He was 94. The son of the late Florence and Herman Haar, Larry was born in the Bronx on January 6, 1931. He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School and New York University, then served in the Korean War. Larry became an accountant and, with his wife, Flo, settled with their family in Port Washington, NY, where he was an active member of the Community Synagogue for over 50 years. With his longtime partner, Larry Rose, he opened a successful accounting firm, Rose & Haar, based in Great Neck. Larry was predeceased by Flo, his wife of 64 years, and his sister, Grace Marks. He is survived by his children Nancy, David (Amanda), and Douglas (Michelle) Haar as well as his eight grandchildren, Charles, Sebastian (Ari Guerra) and Stefanie (Nathan Benjamin) Buffa, and Zoey, Max, Hannah, Rachel and Alexandra Haar.
