PAUL GOLDSTEIN Obituary

GOLDSTEIN--Paul S. Paul S. Goldstein, Esq., beloved husband of Barbara (Waltuch), former husband of Elaine, devoted father of Peter (Wendy) and Jeffrey (Julie), adoring grandfather of Jeremy, Lauren, and Evan; loving stepfather to Howard Waltuch and proud grandfather of Noah and Russell Waltuch. A graduate of Hofstra University and Cornell Law School, Paul was past-President of the Queen's County Bar Association and the Brandeis Association. He had a passion for American history and over his 90 years never gave up on his thirst for learning and enthusiasm and appreciation for life - completing a Master's degree in his 80's. He was happy to have a deep conversation on nearly any topic, from the recent events in your life to world affairs. He was the proverbial "lawyer's lawyer" who his colleagues and clients could always rely on to help them resolve the most complicated matters. Fervently believing that it was vital to give back to the community, he worked pro bono for many clients and as a court arbitrator because, in his words, "it was the right thing to do." His interests were wide ranging; a competitive collegiate tennis player, an avid skier and golfer, and spellbinding amateur magician. Paul loved adventure, traveling the world with his family throughout his life. At the end of the day, he firmly believed that it is good to be lucky, and that he was lucky beyond his wildest dreams.

Paul was a dear friend and client.
He always was a caring and loving man and dedicated professional.
It was very sad and shocking to learn of his passing.

Paul and his brother Mark were ushers at our White Plains wedding in August of 1956. He was a dear friend of my husband Ted, who is ninety, since they were small children. We last saw him at our fiftieth anniversary party in western Massachusetts. Ted and Paul were born one day apart. We send his family our sympathy.
