PAUL RABINOWITZ

1935 - 2021

RABINOWITZ--Paul J., age 85, of Bridgewater, NJ, died peacefully on February 7, 2021 after a brief illness. Born on July 31, 1935 in New York, NY, to Pearl (nee Goodman) and Leon (George) Rabinowitz, Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Nancy who passed away three weeks ago. He is survived by daughter Carol Rabinowitz (Pam Lubker), and son David Rabin (Donna). He was predeceased by daughters Ellen Thomas and Lisa Rabinowitz. Paul was a devoted grandfather to Wendy Catrona, Joseph Thomas (Anna), Jennifer Thomas -- deceased, Maya Rabinowitz, Adam Rabin, Ian Rabin, Katy Rabin, and Jake Rabinowitz, and great-grandfather to Sofia Sanchez and Luna Thomas. Paul graduated from Brooklyn College, received his Master's degree in physics from New York University, and his doctorate in physics from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. Paul was a physicist who worked on the development of the cesium laser with a team at the Technical Research Group. For this work, he was honored at the Smithsonian Institute. Later in his career he worked as a physicist at Exxon and a researcher at Princeton University. Zoom Shiva Minyan scheduled for Wednesday, February 10 and Thursday, February 11 at 7pm.
