My condolences to the Hiat family. I was the first president of Hillel at Marymount Manhattan College back in 1980 and worked closely with Rabbi Harvey Tattlebaum from Temple Shaaray Tefila. May his memory be a blessing.

Professor Philip Hiat was my very best, most inspiring teacher at Marymount Manhattan College. I was fortunate, maybe even blessed to have been in his class.
My sincere condolences to his family.

Rabbi was a Torah treasure appreciated by all who knew him. His passing leaves a hole that will not be filled.
