When I was very young, Bill would beckon me into his office at Gale Associates and invite me to sit in his lap while he showed me tricks with his handkerchief. He was quick with a smile, a caring and thoughtful ear, and always ready to move you to do more than you thought you could.

A person is judged by the quality of his/her friends and by that measure alone Bill was a very rich man indeed.

Thank you Bill for making the world a better place than you found it, and thanks to Georgia and the Delano family for sharing Bill with us.

There is a hole in my heart tonight. I'm sure that Bill would say to fill it with family, friends and to make a meaningful change in the community in which you live.

Thanks Bill. I'll do my best.
