Barry Hooks Obituary
September 13, 1935 - August 1, 2021
Barry Lynn Hooks, of Opelika, was born to the late James and Mary Hooks of Valley, Alabama on September 13, 1935 and passed away at East Alabama Medical Center on August 1, 2021. He was 85 years old.
Barry retired as a Textile Executive and former President of the Alabama Textile Management Association, General Manager of Clinton Mills in Geneva, Alabama and Executive Vice President of Clinton Mills in Clinton, South Carolina. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a proud member of Watoola United Methodist Church in Beauregard, Alabama. Barry was a graduate of Auburn University, Class of 1957. War Eagle!
Barry was preceded in death by his sister, Libby Leak and brother-in-law, Doss Leak.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann H. Hooks; Children, Jeanne Minsavage (Jerry), Bradley Hooks (Deana), Tobi Lindsey (Chad); grandchildren, Tabitha Precise (Jonathan), Austin Lindsey, Jeri Lynn Rapczak (Taebor), Elizabeth Minsavage, Posie Hooks, and Banjo Hooks; Ryder Precise, Annie Precise, Early Whitaker, and Roona Brown; brother, David Hooks.
Graveside Service will be held at Watoola United Methodist Church Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021 with Reverend Gary Perry officiating.
