Clancy Murray Obituary
He was born June 15, 1960, in Waynesburg, a son of Clancy Allan Murray Sr. and Sandra Vargo Murray of Jefferson, who survive.
Mr. Murray was a 1978 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Murray worked as a corrections officer at SCI-Greene in Waynesburg since 1998. He was named SCI-Greene employee of the month in February 2014 after utilizing his emergency medical service training to render life-saving assistance at the facility December 25 and 26, 2013. He worked as a paramedic in Southwestern Pennsylvania for 15 years. He also worked with his father as a bridge painting contractor.
He was Christian.
Mr. Murray was a member of American Legion Post 954, Jefferson, where he served as sergeant-at-arms, and Jefferson Legion Football Club. He was an honorary member of Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company.
His hobbies were martial arts and gardening. He enjoyed The Beatles music.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sons, Greg Clancy Murray (Jamie) of Monessen and Brian Kenneth Murray of Jefferson; two brothers, Audie Murray of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Daniel Murray (Dawn) of Clarksville; two sisters, Tammy Neubauer (Richard) of New Freedom and Sandy Demski (John) of Cecil Township; and nieces and nephews Vanessa Murray, Kevin Murray, Jacqueline Murray, Chandler Demski, Jared Murray and Garrett Neubauer.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, with the Rev. Larry Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township, with graveside military honors accorded by American Legion Post 954, Jefferson, and the U.S. Army.

Sandy, Clancy, and the entire Murray family. I am saddened to hear about the passing of C. A. It was fun growing up and being around C. A. He had a way of looking at the world and a sense of humor that was all his own. I enjoyed that about him. He will be missed!

Clancy, Sandy, Audie, Tammy, Danny, and Little Sandy. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of C. A. I spent many a day in sweet old Sistesrville goofing around with you guys and swimming in the pool. C. A. was a hoot. He could get things stirred up in a hurry, irritate the crap out of you, and then we would sit back and chuckle. Those times will never be forgotten and neither will he.

My deepest sympathies to the Murray family during this difficult time.
It just doesn't seem fair for him to be taken when he has given so much of himself to others including myself. C.A. performed life saving procedures to me when I had a farming accident in '95
He helped give me a second chance at life.
Unfortunately it's beyond my realm to offer him the same at this point but happily dedicate what's left of my life in his memory and continue to offer my greatest appreciation and gratitude.
