EMMETT WASHINGTON BOWLING 88
Belleview - Emmett Washington Bowling, 88, died at his residence January 20, 2010. He was born in Leighton, Alabama and moved to this area from Michigan in 1983. He was a tool and die maker in the automotive industry. Mr. Bowling was a member of Belleview United Methodist Church, Elks, Masons, Moose, an Officer in AFL UAW, and served as Chairman of Northwest UAW. He also served as a Belleview City Commissioner and County Commissioner in Gennesee County, MI and City Commissioner in Davison, MI. He enjoyed golfing and dancing. Mr. Bowling is survived by his wife, Lillian Mae Bowling, Belleview; son, Emmett Gerald "Jerry" Bowling, Westland, MI; daughters, Margaret Lee Derbin, Macomb, MI and Victoria Lutz, Parker, AZ; stepsons, Corwin Wherrett, Ashville, NC and Donald Wherrett, Concord, CA; sisters, Glyniss Blevins, Adrian, MI, Mary Sight, Lindon, MI; brother, J.C. Bowling, Fallwell, CA; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, with Rev. Debbie Allen officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.
