TRACY CAMERON Obituary

CAMERON, TRACY, 48
Salt Springs - Tracy Cameron, 48, died at her home in Salt Springs, FL on Sunday, February 5, 2017 following congestive heart failure and other ailments. Tracy was born on July 18, 1968 to Charles and Barbara Green in Orlando, FL. She attended Colonial High and Valencia Community College. On April 20, 1990, Tracy married the late Ramon Eugene Cameron Jr., with whom she had three children, Cortney, Cassidy, and Cody. From 1989 to 1999, she served the City of Orlando as an EMT and dispatcher, including field duties during the great Florida wildfires of 1998. During her residency in Hays, NC from 2000 to 2010, she was variously employed by Lowe's Home Improvement and several local newspapers, including The Record of Wilkes, where she contributed to the internationally-known campaign to pardon Tom Dooley. For her investigative journalism, Tracy received awards in 2001 from the North Carolina Press Association and the North Carolina Historical Society. After becoming disabled, Tracy volunteered much of her time assisting the elderly, the homeless, and veterans. However, her proudest accomplishments were those of her children. Tracy will be remembered for her friendly wit and writing, indomitable spirit, effusive warmth, and vivacious charm.
Tracy joins her husband in the next life.
She is survived by her children; her father; her mother; her older brother, Charles Green Jr., many beloved nieces; nephews; cousins, and friends; and her service dog, Ladybird.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 2 pm in Oak Point, Titusville, FL.

I wish you were still here, I would tell you I understand now how life beat you down, and I'm sorry I was young and naive. And how did you do it, working 8 to 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, for over a decade (or was it two)? And that I forgive you, and I hope you forgive me. But you can't give love or understanding in hindsight, and you can't speak wisdom or give me lessons from the grave. I wish you were still here to be older and even more obnoxious when I am old and obnoxious. Or just to be my Mom again.

I am so very sorry Tracy is gone. I hate it for yall so much. Gonna try to remember all the good times. Like when her and Cassidy would call me at midnight and say they seen green eyes staring back at them from the field. Then I go over and we find out it's one of the dogs. Of course they got the door barricaded and I can't even get in.
Poor Cody just be in bed sleeping.
Gonna miss Tracy, loved her very much. God be with yall and my house is always a home for any of you. Your all in my prayers.

My condolences to her children and family. I met Tracy in elementary school where we lived in the same neighborhood and our fathers were in the fire department together. She was a loving friend and had a lot of passion for life. If you were ever feeling down she was there to lift your spirits. She'll forever live in my heart and truly be missed. Love to all. Tracy, Rest now. I know how much you missed my brother, and now you are with him again. We will all miss you deeply, but most of all your children. I grieve most for their monumental loss, and I will do what I can to support them.

We all are shocked and saddened by your loss.

I can't believe this witty, beautiful, effervescent flower is gone from us. She was one of the most positive, uplifting people I've ever met. Despite all of her life's tragedies, she always had a smile and a positive word. Last Sunday, heaven gained a true angel.
Rest in deserved peace Miss Tracy.
