Jo-Nell Martin Obituary
Jo-Nell Madeline Martin passed away at the age of 65 on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.
Born on June 11, 1950 to Richard and Madeline Grill, she was preceded in death by her father, Richard B. and sister-in-law, Silvia Grill. She leaves behind, her dear husband and high school sweetheart, John; sons, John Aaron and Erik (Daneen); sweet granddaughter, Mykenzie; also mother, Madeline; sister, Gloria and Linda; brothers, Richard (Jan) of Chicago and Tom of Tehachapi, Calif.; as well as many wonderful friends, and her 'special boys': Brian, Danny, John, Kirk and Gary.
Jo-Nell graduated from Ellet High School and St. Thomas School of Nursing. She then worked at Summa Hospital for over 40 years. She was the shining light for her family and friends, always thoughtful and generous with her time. Always willing to help her family and friends even as she was dealing with her own serious medical issues; she was a strong and courageous woman. She taught us all about life with her quiet dignity and humility. This world will be a sadder place without her. Go with God, Jo.
Calling hours will be TOMORROW, Friday, February 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony & Son Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads in Green, entrance off of Steese Rd.). A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Road in Green. Cremation has taken place and private burial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Summa Hospice, by visiting: http://give.thesummafoundation.org.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of Jo-Nell as well - I had only a few opportunities to interact with Jo-Nell - what a lovely person and you are right we will have one less light in the world! We just have to remember that Life is Eternal, Love is Immortal, and Death is only a horizon - Praise the Lord we will all be re-united thanks to His Great Love!

John, your wedding day is such a beautiful memory. You and Jo-Nell proved to be partners in life, being each others best friend through good times and bad.
Jo-Nell's warmth and love for family and friends was always evident. My heart goes to her mother, Madeline, who was my mom's best friend (Rosemary). Jo-Nell was such a joy to Madeline!
My heart also goes to her siblings, especially Gloria and Richard, whom I knew the best. You have always been a wonderful family. I'm sure you will find solace in your many happy memories.

My sincerest condolences regarding the death of your dear Jo-Nell and my dear friend and colleague. My memories of Jo-Nell are those of deep affection and fondness, for she was a sweet, gentle and quiet, yet very strong lady. The words for me that most exemplify her person was her consistent, wonderful show of grace, dignity, patience, and compassion of others, regardless of the circumstances or situation, extremely rare attributes ever displayed in the workplace, understandable because they come from within.
