Norma Mae Huggins

Norma Mae Huggins, 68, of 8149 Dawn Rd. S.W., Sherrodsville, died Saturday morning, May 24, 2003, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a five-month illness.

Norma was born March 28, 1935, in Morgantown, W. Va., and was the daughter of the late Robert and Frema Peltz Sabolo. She was a housewife who actively followed the scholastic, athletic, and professional activities of her children with zeal and passion, and treasured her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at New Philadelphia and a graduate of Morgantown, W. Va., High School. For 30 years she served as cook for the Eastern Ohio Basketball Camp in Sherrodsville, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband, Charles J. "Charlie" Huggins, whom she married May 24, 1952; children, Bobby (June) Huggins of Cin cinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Mike (Linda) Burr of Coshocton, Ohio, Harry L. (Tracey) Huggins of Dover, Ohio, Debbie Bradford of Coshocton and her friend, Barry Fogle, Larry (Lori) Huggins of Sunbury, Ohio, Mrs. Bill (Judy) Mathias and Mrs. Paul (Karen) Monaco, both of Dover; sister, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Rosenberger of Morgantown, W. Va.; and grand children, Jenna and Jacque Huggins, Jacie and Ryan Burr, Tyler, Travis, and Trevor Bradford, Sa mantha and Kara Huggins, Madi son and McKenna Mathias, and Anthony, Moriah, Andrew, and Anne-Marie Monaco.

In accordance with Norma's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private memorial service. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment, c/o the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, P.O. Box 9300, Morgantown, W. Va. 26506. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home in Sherrodsville is handling the ar rangements (740-269-9225).
