William Sprague Obituary

William G Sprague

My Bill passed away December 27, 2014 after a 20 year fight with liver disease.

He was born 10/2/55 to the late William and Helen Sprague. He was born in Wadsworth, Ohio and raised in Doylestown, Ohio.

He was predeceased by his two brothers, Jerry and Joel. Bill was affectionately known as "My Bill", #1 Daddy-O, Billy-Bob and Wild Bill. He loved life more than life itself. Working with his hands doing construction-remodeling was something he was currently doing for the love of his life, Kim, on the small villa they had just purchased as he wanted her to be safe.

He was an active Jehovah's Witness for 34 years. He loved sharing his hope of living forever on the earth in a future paradise. He wanted everyone to know the truth of the Bible even sharing this with all the doctors and nurses that helped care for him in his final days. He loved reading the Watchtower and Awake magazines and never missed reading a single issue or article for 36 years and he impressed this love upon his children, Chad and Karissa. His love of landscaping was something he shared with many. Planting trees and flowers and watching them grow was a strong passion of his. He didn't like planting roots for himself as he was a true rambling rose living in various states throughout the U.S. He loved to travel, have new adventures, and explore every garden spot he could find. All of these things were things he did with his wife Kim and his kids, Chad and Karissa. He wanted to take them everywhere he possibly could. He leaves his wife, Kim of 33 1/2 years; and his two children, Chad and Karissa (James-fiance) whom he adored with all his heart. He also leaves many close family members and hundreds of friends to cherish his memory.

He was known for his huge beautiful smile and contagious laugh. Bill was a frugal man, a coupon fanatic and one who never wanted to put a financial hardship on anyone. Due to the expense it would create for our family and many many friends across the U.S., the family wishes to hold a private service as cremation has taken place.

Bills' wishes were that in lieu of flowers the following could be done: A donation to the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, plant a tree or flowers and watch them grow, enjoy life to the fullest and open your hearts and listen to Jehovah's Witnesses when they knock at your door.

Kim, Chad and Karissa are very appreciative to the overwhelming response to the loss of My Bill and their #1 Daddy-O.

Condolences may be sent to 1215 Wild Feather Lane, Sun City Center, FL 33573.

The day I met My Bill I was told that "Everybody Loves Billy Sprague" - We truly believe this was so...

Kim,

I just recently found out that Bill passed away almost 8 years ago! I think I must have been still reeling from Bob's death earlier that same year and did not receive the information from my kids until just this year. We always had so much fun with you guys and missed the camaraderie we all had. So sorry for your loss so many years ago and I know you look forward to seeing him in the future! - Love, Carole

I only met Bill the one time, but he was so nice and kind that it still made an impression. I enjoyed hearing about him and the rest of the family from Kim. My thoughts continue to drift to her and the kids as well. I pray for comfort and peace of heart for them; knowing that he is with the Lord.

Thinking about Bill and the Sprague family tonight. He was such a good example of keeping a positive spirit despite his health. Praying for the family to have Jehovah's continued comfort and support until the day when we all see him again in paradise on Earth. ?

Dear Kim, Karissa, and Chad. I feel very privileged to have been with you those few days before Bill passed. It amazes me that all that Bill was going through he was concerned about sharing with nurses and staff his beautiful hope. With his contagious smile and down to earth manner he won many hearts....especially mine! I feel very confident that Jehovah will pull you very close as you deal with Bills absence for a time. Your deep faith in the promised resurrection and your genuine love and trust in your Heavenly Father is a real source of encouragement to me. How privileged we are to know Jehovah and have the truth in his word. Know my heart is with yours and that I love you very much.

Every time I read these messages I am filled with so many emotions. I cry at all the memories everyone holds of my #1 Daddy-o but I also smile whenever I think of all the memories I hold so dear of him and recall all the memories everyone has shared. My mom did such a beautiful job capturing the wonderful man my dad was. He will forever be my hero and I will hold him dear until I get to see him again....smiling, happy and most of all healthy.

This obituary was beautifully written, it made me cry and was yet inspiring at the same time. I can't imagine losing the love of your life, so no words can be expressed to help, I realize, but you are in our thoughts and prayers. What gets me through the sad and painful times is recalling Jehovah's promise that none of these sad and hurtful times will be remembered. I have not seen you guys in years, but still recall the jokes and laughter he always had, along with you all as a family. With deepest sympathies.

What a beautiful story of Bill's life and loves. We knew each other for only a short time but Bill's boisterous personality made a happy impression on our little congregation of Grand Harbour, Bradenton, Florida. I grieve with you Kim, Chad, Karissa (and James), but we rejoice together in our hope of the resurrection of the dead to a Paradise earth. "You will be with me in Paradise" said our Lord Jesus.

That was such a beautiful tribute to your "loving Bill".He lived a life worth celebrating. Now as he rests in Jehovah's memory, I pray Jehovah strengthens you all and holds You close. Love and (((hugs)))

January 4, 2015

Our Kimmy,Chad, and Karissa,
I was telling Tom that Bill never missed reading an issue of the magazines, I was so glad you verified that in your love story! You and Bill were a love story, I will always treasure our friendship right into the New World, You dignified him by celebrating his passion for life, love for Jehovah, and the leader of his family. His life truly meant something in Jehovah's eyes, what a legacy. In the New World, I want to say" sorry, no Hap Meals, but the Welcome Back Committee has Shakes on the menu", Just to see that laugh again. Tom truly misses him, but from his perspective will have much joy seeing tears of reuniting. I will hold all our memories in my heart, Kimmy, you are a brave sis, extending your heart and sharing all these lovely things about "your Bill" with so many.
With full hearts, and prayers, Tom and Dyanne Wagner

The first thing I think of about Bill is his smile/laugh and his love for Kim (and the kids). We have countless memories that will be cherished until we see him again in paradise! I loved how he would "dance" around and sing. He could make a song out of any situation. And of course, how we didn't go anywhere with a coupon of some kind (even the drive-in). But he taught us some great ways of how to save and spend money wisely, especially early in our marriage. We will miss him! And our love and prayers are with Kim, Chad and Karissa. He was blessed to have you all in his life and you were blessed to have such a loving husband and father!
