Genevieve Gordon Obituary

On July 29, 2007, Genevieve Gordon, after celebrating her 81st birthday the day before, passed away peacefully in her sleep at an adult facility in Longview.

Jeanne was born July 28, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Anthony and Matilda May (Wettstein) Pieper.

In 1948 she married USAF Master Sgt. William L. Gordon Jr. They had two boys and traveled with the military to the Philippines and later to Biloxi, Miss. William died in 1960 after 21 years of service. Later she met Robert Beaushaw and moved to Kent, Wash. They had two more children.

She lived in Kent as a homemaker until multiple illnesses recently forced her to move to Rainier to be with family.

Jeanne loved visiting with her friends and seeing her family and grandchildren very much. She was a generous and very independent person who loved to play bingo and listen to music.

Her New York accent was still very strong after 45 years in the Northwest and often the topic of conversation with strangers.

Jeanne is survived by a son, William L. Gordon III of Kent; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Bev Gordon of Enumclaw, Wash.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne (Beaushaw) and Thomas Crawford of Rainier; and a son, Dale Beaushaw of St. Helens, Ore; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A private celebration of her life will be held for friends and family in Kent at a later date.

Arrangements are by Columbia Funeral Service.

Gramzies,

It has almost been a year without you. There have been so many times where I have dialed your number just to check in with you. I just wanted to let you know Chad and I are expecting our second child this November. If it is a girl we are going to name her after you.

What I would give to see you and talk to you one more time.

I love you with all my heart!

To My Cousin Jeannie who was my inspiration to become a Secretary. In N.Y. when I was about 9 yrs. old, you took me on the bus to your office job and I was enthrolled. Your boss always brought bagels and cream cheese. When you left N.Y. my Mom (Genevieve). your Aunt, and I enjoyed talking on the tele. and writing letters to each other. We always stayed CLOSE even though we were thousands of miles apart. Now Dear Jeannie, you are with soooo many family members; laughing and singing Country music that you so loved. You will always be in my Heart. Love You. Cousin JoAnne XO XO
