FranklinJuly 18, 1924 - August 7, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY Helen Ophelia Franklin was born in Independence, Kansas on July 18, 1924 to Marshall Goodridge and Ophelia Bridgewater. She is the oldest sister of Gertrude Clifford, and brother Marshall L. Goodridge Jr., Marshall preceded her in death. Helen graduated from Douglass High School in 1942 and went on to UCO for two years and finished at Rose State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. She then took that degree and opened her store in the neighborhood. Helen accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 80 years. During these years, she served the Lord faithfully, emphasizing missionary circle work. She married Russell McDonald and with their union was blessed with two children, Patricia Anne and Marshall Louis. Mother Helen provided for her family by doing domestic work, after that she worked at TG&Y in fabrics, left these to work and retire from McDonalds in 1998. She leaves in God's care her daughter Patricia Anne Wofford of Spencer, Oklahoma and Marshall Louis McDonald of Oklahoma City, sister Gertrude Clifford of Chicago, Illinois, four generations which include 5 grandchildren, Debbie, Rhonda, Renee, Niekika & Tyeseha, 7 great-grandchildren, Marshall, Kisha, Craig, Billy, Kaila, Koryn & Stanley, 11 great great-grandchildren, Jazz, Kazz, Autumn, Ariesa, Cayden, Noah, Mia, Maya Renee, Ocean, Audrianna & Royce and a host of nieces and nephews.
