Lisa Brizendine Obituary
Lisa was the daughter of Betty Ann Davenport and the late Gary Kenton Brizendine. She was born on April 5, 1965 and attended Ballard High School and the U of L School of Nursing, where she graduated with honors. Lisa worked at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville where she was cherished by her patients and coworkers. Lisa generously shared her love of music and care giving with all who knew her and will be remembered for her selfless nurturing.
She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Brizendine and Claire Culwell of Clarksville, Ind.; her fiancé, Tom Hurtgen of Clarksville; her mother, Betty Ann Davenport (Allan Crain) of Danville; one brother, Mark Brizendine (Christina) of Westfield, N.J., and a niece and nephew, Tessa Brizendine of Westfield, N.J. and Ben Brizendine of Louisville. Lisa was preceded in death by her father and four grandparents, Henry & Doris Coakley and Alton & Addie Brizendine.
A visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home in La Grange, on Thursday, July 16, 2015, with a funeral service immediately following at noon. Burial was at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Green County, Ky. Please leave your online condolences at www.heady-radcliffefuneralhome.com.

I worked with Lisa at Humana. She was a ray of positive energy with a generous heart to match. Lisa really knew how to make people feel special. She spoke about her family in such a loving way, especially her two girls. I am so sorry to hear this.

I'm shocked and saddened to hear that Lisa passed away. I hadn't been in touch with her for a long time, but she had quite an impact on me--Lisa was the person who convinced me I needed to find a way to finish college, and my life was never the same once I did. I'll never forget her.

I am just heartbroken with the news of Lisa's passing. We were such great friends as kids from elementary through high school. She and her parents stood up for me at my baptism (at 12 years old) at De Haven Memorial when my own family would not acknowledge my decision. She was my best friend then. I will never forget her. I remember Lisa as a girl with a big bright smile that lit the whole room of wherever she was. She had such pretty white teeth and big brown eyes. She was such a helpful and loving friend. The world now has an empty place in it with her gone. RIP Lisa you are missed

Lisa was such a lovely woman- so funny, warm, generous, and compassionate. I spent many shifts with her at KMC, and know how much love and pride she had for Cate, Claire, and Tom. Words cant describe thr loss we feel at Clark Mem Hosp for our sweet friend, Lisa, whom we hsve known and loved for many years. Prayers for all her family, and for her former step dad whom I worked with prior, Joe. Bright smiles is a great remembrance of Lisa for that is just how she was.
