Joseph Dingey Obituary
BOLIVAR - Joseph A. Dingey Sr., 78, of 1971 Black & George Hollow, and a former Niagara Falls resident, passed away at home with his family by his side on Tuesday (Jan. 3, 2023).
Born March 22, 1944, in Phillipsburg Pa., he was the son of Joseph M. and Grace Mildred Snedden Dingey. Joe married Sherry English on May 15, 1973, in Niagara Falls. Mrs. Dingey survives.
Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in France and Germany during the Vietnam War.
Joe was employed as a truck driver for Empire Builders Supply Co., Niagara Falls, for over 30 years, retiring in 2002.
Joe was a Jack of all trades and loved his family. Joe was a hard worker and loved fishing, hunting and family vacations. He was always creating projects around the house. He loved to help people and would give you the shirt off his back.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Terry Lynn Williams of Bolivar, Shannon Elizabeth Kirbis of Blasdell and Joseph A. (Maggie) Dengey Jr. of Webster; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Grace Hickson of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Kraft; one brother, Leon Clarence Dingey; and the love of his life, his chocolate lab Libbie Lyn.
All services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery Kylertown, Pa.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar.
