CANASTOTA-Donald C. Mills, 72, Buyea Road, died Friday morning, February 4, 2022, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving and caring family.Born in Oneida, on June 20, 1949, he was the son of Lester and Arlene Salisbury Mills. A lifelong resident of the area, Don was a graduate of Oneida High School and served with the United States Marine Corps. He married Theresa “Terry” Markle in St. Patrick’s Church, Oneida on June 10, 1977.Prior to his retirement, Don was employed in the trucking industry his entire working career, last being associated with SEPES Transport. He enjoyed all types of woodworking, loved trucking during his entire career and family gave him the greatest enjoyment.Surviving besides his wife, Terry, are his three sons, John (Lisa) Markle of Oneida, Danny (Liza) Mills of Durhamville and Cory Mills of Canastota; his five grandchildren, Patrick (Martina) Markle, Rachele Markle, Riley Markle, Dani Lynn Mills, Autumn Mills and Gentry Burns; two great-grandchildren, Dixie May Markle and Patrick Markle, Jr.; two sisters, Mary Jane (Donald) Lanz and Jeanette (Robert) Lenaghen, all of Oneida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Jennifer Hodges, Sandy Hebbard and Carol Coy and two brothers, John Mills and Dennis Mills.Funeral services will be held 5 PM, Friday, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc. 260 Main Street, Oneida, with Pastor Kevin Bailey, officiating.
