Antonio De La Riva Obituary

Antonio Z. De La Riva born December 10, 1929 in Santa Ana, California; gone to God December 14, 2019. Survived by his children, Ann Marie, Patricia (Dina), Anthony, John (O.F.M.), and Thomas (Brenda); grandchildren Ricardo, Manuel, Maria Dolores, Teresa, Celina, Thomas Jr., Rebecca and Jazleen; great-grandchildren Oscar, Miguel, Michelle, Aracelia, Julian, Allie, Elijah and Amelia; and brother, Martin Z. De La Riva as well as many nieces, nephews and grandnephews and grandnieces. Predeceased by Margarita (Margie) his beloved wife of 60 years; parents Alberto G. De La Riva and Eustolia Zapata; brothers Francisco, Albert, Jose, Alex, Pio and sister Catalina. Lifelong resident of Orange County, Antonio graduated from Santa Ana High School and Santa Ana College. He served his country as an Army medic during the Korean War and spoke of those times mostly in terms of the lifelong friendships he made during that time. Wed in 1955 to the love of his life, he and Margie lived and raised their five children in the same house throughout their married lives. Vigil to be held from 4 to 8pm, and Rosary at 7pm, on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Hilgenfeld Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am Saturday, January 4, 2020 at St. Anthony Claret Church with burial to follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
