KELLY HOOVER Obituary

Hoover, Kelly, our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, died Friday, July 10th after over a year of battling ovarian cancer. Her strength in the face of this terrible disease will forever change the lives of people that she met, knew and loved. Kelly was born May 26, 1962 in Long Beach, CA and was raised in Garden Grove. She attended Pacifica High School and worked for 28 years for the Orange County Department of Education. She worked at Joplin Youth Facility and Los Pinos Youth Camp. Kelly is survived by her father, Gordon Hoover; sisters, Michelle Keil (husband Greg) and Stefanie Hoover; and Kelly's boyfriend, Jeff Hantz. She was a loving aunt to Kathleen, Gordon and Dane and a life-long friend of Tony and Teri Adkins. She is preceded in death by her mom, Sylvia Hoover. Kelly had numerous friends, cousins, aunts and uncles who will miss her and will forever be affected by her life and death. We will forever love Kelly and will miss her and her laugh, her smile, her love of life. Memorial service with visitation and prayers will be held Wednesday, July 15 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Dimond and Shannon Mortuary in Garden Grove. Funeral Mass to be held Thursday, July 16 at St. Polycarp Catholic Church, Stanton at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Ovarian Cancer Orange County Alliance.

I had the great pleasure of working with Kelly for many years. She became a dear friend that I loved deeply. She touched many lives with her infectious smile and laugh. She will be missed by many. I know that she will be up there watching over for me, just as she did here on earth.. My thoughts and prayers are with the Hoover Family during this difficult time. May the joyous memories bring you comfort.

My childhood memories have always been more brighter and happier having had Kelly in them. I'll always remember her constant smiles and laughter - even when she was fried like a red lobster after being at the beach all day with baby oil on! My thoughts and prayers are with all of her loved ones (especially Mr. Hoover, Michelle and Stefanie) and her friends as they each go through dealing with the loss of such a wonderful person. My heart goes out to you.

We have known and enjoyed Kelly since we moved to Garden Grove in 1968. She was a joy to be around. They always enjoyed swimming in our pool in the summer time playing "Fish out of Water"
She will be missed greatly.

Kelly has been a long time wonderful friend and person. I will miss you, especially your laugh and your positive thinking. We had some VERY fun summers together at the River when we were younger. Kelly would enjoy her first day so much she had to sleep thru the next day. You will be greatly missed, but I know you are no longer hurting and are in a better place. Best Wishes to the family and may God help you through this.
