I, too, was part of our very special high school gang. Too soon our lives parted as we went our different ways - but our friendships will endure forever. I will and do miss you, Niki.

Nikki Barnes and I were friends since she moved to California from Michigan, attending La Habra High School and UCLA together. We celebrated our fortieth reunion in August 2006 and caught up with our children and careers. Nikki spoke with regret that we were the only two from “our gang” in attendance, recalling how nice it was when all of us got together with our mothers some years ago. We’ve all taken different paths, yet we’re linked so tightly from that time of innocence and hope. Nikki is blazing a new trail now. She will be missed but remembered so fondly. Our deepest sympathies to her family, friends, and colleagues.

It was truly a honor to have known Niki. We shared many happy times together, when are boys were growning up. I will miss her.
