Today is Saturday August 1st 2020 and I will always remember Scotty as a very nice friend who gave me employment at his coffee shop as well as my first surfboard.
Thank you for being a real friend Scotty.

I am so sad to hear this.. he was a great guy. One of the first people in HB I met years ago when I came out from Texas to learn how to surf. He sold a great cup of coffee, gave me lots of free advice, and rented me an old surf board for almost nothing. He was a cool cat, laughed out loud when I told him he should run for mayor of huntington beach. To his family and friends, i am so sorry for your loss.

I met Scott back in 1979 upon returning to Lakewood, WA. after my 1st ski season in Utah.
He traded his surfboard for skis for a few memorable years and was a true friend of mine.
Impossible to describe all the adventures I had with Scott but one I will always remember was jumping into a powder filled chute before he could and him chasing me all the way back to the base in full fury.
That was the way he was in my eyes. Passionate.
Scott was loyal and open and gave the world a true blast of life.
I hadn't seen him for decades before hearing the news of his passing but I will miss him dearly.
You were one of a kind.

I knew Scotty from Java Jungle/Surf Shack as I lived up the street. Scotty was always smiling and outgoing. He loved his child and looked forward to his new life in Costa Rica. My condolences on your family's loss.
