Brian Leach Obituary

Leach, Brian Douglas 46 Feb. 27, 1970 May 24, 2016 Brian Douglas Leach was born Feb. 27, 1970, the son of Doug and Sue (Satterlee) Leach, in Seattle. The youngest of Doug and Sues three children, the family moved to Tigard in 1972 when Doug found a job working on the new Washington Square Mall. In 1978, the Leach family moved again to Sherwood where Brian attended Sherwood High School (class of 1988). During his youth, Brian developed his lifelong enjoyment of the outdoors hunting, fishing and playing on equipment, as well as a passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers. A graduate of the Oregon Institute of Technology (1995) in civil engineering, Brian passed the professional engineering exam in 1998. Brian worked for the family business, Carlson Testing, starting during the summers while still in high school as a lab tech and became one of the principle owners at the time of his death 30 years later. Brian served on the O.I.T. engineering board and acted as an advisor and mentor to the next generation of graduates. Brian met his future wife, Patty, the sister of his college roommate, Alan Stone, while calling for Alan. They instantly connected over a four hour phone call and both Brian and Patty never looked back. They lived in Sherwood along with their two boys next door to Brians parents and within a few miles of his siblings. Other than his family, Brians greatest passion was the family ranch in Ritter. Brian died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Legacy Meridian Park Hospital from a heart attack when he was 46 years of age. Surviving and left to honor his life are his wife, Patty; parents, Doug and Sue; sons, Wayne (age 18) and Mitchell (age 16); brother, Steve; sister, Laurie (husband, Tim); nephew, Scott; nieces, Kelsey (fiance, Taylor), Tammy and Kylie; and those who have come to know and appreciate him where he has lived and worked. His celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the Sherwood Arts Center, 22689 S.W. Pine St., Sherwood. Arrangements are in the care of Attrells Sherwood Funeral Chapel, a Golden Rule Funeral Home. Condolences may be made at: www.attrells.com

To his mother, Sue-
Ballard was a special place to grow up. I've always considered people from my past life there important. I was saddened by reading your loss of a son, an obviously very fine man. I'm sure, given time, you'll only remember all the good times with him.
